Summer Romance: ShikaTema

I sat in the shade under a tree, sipping my drink and waiting for her. Boy, I was getting hot. But it was all worth it when she arrived.

"Hi Shikamaru," she said. She sounded kinda nervous. I don't blame her though. I have some butterflies in my stomach as well.

"Hey, Temari," I responded . "I like your dress. It's really beautiful like you."

"Awwww, thanks sweetie," she said, blushing. "And might I say you look very handsome today."

"Heh, thank you," I replied.

She sat down next to me under the tree. I fought off my nervousness and put my arm around her, pulling her closer to me. She rested her head on my shoulder, smiling.

"Ahhh, isn't the sunset beautiful?" she asked.

"Of course it is. Why else do think I picked this place and time?"

Temari blushed a bit, then told me four words that I never forgot:

"I love you, Shikamaru."

"I love you too, Temari," I responded, smiling.

We kissed eachother on the lips passionately. I felt like the luckiest guy on the planet.

Our lips parted and we started to head home. We walked to her house first, holding hands along the way. Best walk I ever took.

"Thank you so much for today," she said.

"Anything to make you happy, my sweetheart."

She kissed me on the lips before heading inside. I smiled and walked back home. I'm never gonna forget that date.
